    Jessie Eugene “Gene” Stone, 58, of Malvern passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2016. He was born in Malvern on December 24, 1957 to Lorene Stone and the late A.B. Stone.

    Jessie is survived by his mother, Lorene (Ferrel) Stone; his two daughters, Brittani (Lawrence) Stone and Stefany (J.P.) Stone and his brother, Mike Stone. Jessie also leaves behind nine grand-children, many loving cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of other family and friends.

    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 6-8 PM in the chapel of Atkinson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2:00 also in the chapel of Atkinson Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Cooper Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be J.R. Ross, Glenn Ross, Dennis Henderson, Steve Hobbs, Tony Matlock and Mike Kelly.

    Honorary Pallbearers are Sonny Gregory, Brian George, Philip “Mike” Stone, Lawrence Holt III and J.P. Allgood.

    The family would like to send a special thank you to Brian George for all his love and care, as well as, the Hospice Home health care team and assisting nurses.

    Arrangements entrusted to Atkinson Funeral Home in Malvern.

    So sorry to hear about the loss of Gene. He was a real fighter and gave it his best to beat his illness. I know he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May you all have comfort knowing he is not suffering anymore and is in a much better place.

    Stefany, Mike and Mrs. Stone, I'm very saddened of Gene's passing as I know you are. I'm thankful he is no longer suffering or in pain. I pray you all find comfort in God to ease your pain and to heal your broken hearts. He was such a wonderful person whom I thought very highly of and was so proud with many to call my friend. Peace and love to you all.
